8 Artist Reception - "Off the Main Trail'" 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Tulare Historical Museum, 444 West Tulare Ave. Exhibit will feature oil paintings by Rev. John Gresbach, director at St. Anthony's Retreat Center in Three Rivers. Paintings will be on display through March 1. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Information: 686-2074.
8 Valley Oak Garden Club - 9:30 a.m. at the Tulare Historical Museum, 444 West Tulare Ave. Laurel Thompson, a College of Sequoias instructor in floral design, will present "Winter Armatures," a contemporary look with clear vases. Meeting is open to the public.

International Agri-Center, Heritage Complex, 4500 South Laspina St., Tulare, 6 p.m. Tickets: $40 for Chamber members; non-members $48. Reserved tables of 8 available. Reservations are mandatory, seating is limited and this event usually sales out so make your reservations early. This years recipients are: Man of the Year, Tony Souza Jr.; Woman of the Year, Jeri Sell; Small Business of the Year, Gainsborough Studios; Large Business of the Year, M Green and Company LLP. 1 Childrens Christmas Parade - Tulare Chamber of Commerce presents their annual Childrens Christmas Parade. This years theme "It's a Magical Christmas" Parade starts at 7 p.m. Entry forms are available at the Tulare Chamber of Commerce office, 220 East Tulare Ave. Entry if free until Nov. 13, 2008. Late fee of $10 will apply for forms received between Friday Nov. 14 and Thursday Nov. 20, 2008. Entries will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20th. 4 Play - Encore Theatre Company presents "Dirty Work at the Crossroads," at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13, and at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 14, at Encore Theatre, 324 South N Street. 5 & 6 Southeast Asian Christmas Craft Faire - Evolution Fitness & Rehab Center, 1425 E. Prosperity, Tulare. The Mienh, Hmong and Lahu women will be selling their exquisitely embroidered tapestries, dresses, vests, jackets, handbags, dolls, pillow covers, aprons, ornaments, baskets, and other perfect gifts. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: 686-5608 or 688-1644
6 Police Officers' Ball - The 35th Annual Policeman's Ball will be held at the Heritage Complex, 4450 South Laspina St., Tulare. The ball is a major fundraiser for the Tulare Police Benefit Association which uses its funds to support children:s charities and activities, the police explorer post and the annual Toys for Kids Christmas Toy Drive. The dinner-dance will feature a raffle, a live auction, no-host cocktails and dinner followed by dancing. Guest bringing an unwrapped toy for the Drive will receive a free raffle ticket. 6 Used Book Sale - Friends of the Tulare City Library is having a used-book sale, 10 a.m. to noon at the Tulare Public Library, 113 North F Street. Features non-fiction, vintage, text, computer, coffee table books, bibles and dictionaries. Also DVD's, CD's, tapes, movies and books on tape for $1 each. Cost: $3.00 per bag. Information:685-2341.

14 Free Brunch with Santa - International Agri-Center, Heritage Complex, 4500 South Laspina St., Tulare. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free breakfast complete with pancakes, bacon or sausage, coffee, juice and milk. Visit Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus and make candy canes, string cranberries and popcorn, watch cartoons in the Theater and tour AgVentures! Learning Center. The entire event including a photo with Santa is free of charge. Seating is limited and tickets are required. Tickets are limited to the first 2000 guests. To pick up a free ticket prior to the event, stop by the Agri-Center or R & N Market in Tulare. Tickets will not be available at the door the day of the event. Open to the public 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purchasing your tickets in advance is encouraged. Pre show tickets are; $10 per day or $27 for a 3 day pass. 12 Agricultural Leadership Alumni Breakfast - The Agricultural Leadership alumni of Kings and Tulare counties are pleased to host the 15th annual breakfast to benefit the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation. This year's speaker is Thomas Frey executive director and senior futurist of the DaVinci Institute. The fundraiser breakfast will take place at the Heritage Complex during the World Ag Expo. Table sponsors are $500, which includes steak breakfast for eight and program recognition. Individual tickets are also available for $50.
